Visiting a new church for the first time can be uncomfortable because you don’t know what to expect. We want to reassure you that we will try our best to make you feel at home.
Everyone is welcome to attend our services, whether you are coming by yourself or with your family. Expect to meet friendly people of all ages and nationalities who are glad that you chose to worship at Light of the World. Expect to be loved. Feel free to dress casually or dress up. Bibles are encouraged!
Our Corporate Worship is Passionate and Intentional
It is our desire that our corporate worship experience will be passionate, Christ-centered and scripturally based. Our songs are both practiced and spontaneous and will contain hymns and contemporary songs. Expect that it will last longer than 20 minutes.
Our messages are delivered by our team of elders and it is likely that you will hear a different speaker each week. Our focus is the work of Christ through the Scriptures, from Genesis through Revelation. Our hope is to equip people for real life as designed by God. We are not expecting perfect people. We embrace one another’s weakness’ and we embrace the cross, both at the same time.
The early church met regularly to learn from the Apostles, to break bread, and to pray together (Acts 2:42). We believe that prayer is powerful, and we put a strong emphasis on corporate prayer. We gather on Tuesday nights where we pray for the church, our towns, cities and people around the world. Corporate prayer unites us as we lift up the needs of others.
Connection through Community
One word you will hear and see often is CONNECT. We believe that the strength of our church is built on a strong relationship with God and with one another. When we love God and love one another, we fulfill the great commandment (Matthew 22:35-40). We extend many opportunities to connect with others through different ministry areas, worship services, our Home Connect Groups and fellowship events. Whatever you choose to do, there is more than one opportunity to meet others in the Body of Christ at Light of the World.
