We are the Church

Acts 2:42 says:

“They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to koinonia (fellowship), to the breaking of bread and to prayer.”

Koinonia is a Greek word that means deep sharing in common — not just chatting or hanging out, but truly participating together in the Christian life. It includes sharing life, faith, resources, meals, joys, and burdens with one another.

What are Koinonia Groups?

Koinonia Groups are small home groups where we live out Acts 2:42 in a personal way. In these groups we:

  • Grow together in the apostles’ teaching (Bible study and learning about Jesus)
  • Practice koinonia — real fellowship, caring for each other, and sharing our lives
  • Enjoy breaking bread (meals and communion together)
  • Pray with and for one another

Just like the early church met in homes (Acts 2:46), our Koinonia Groups are a place to build close relationships, encourage one another, and experience authentic Christian community.

In short: Koinonia Groups are where we don’t just go to church — we become the church together through deep, biblical fellowship.

Connect Groups

Our Connect Groups meet on a regular basis at locations around the Capital Region. Connect Groups provide a comfortable and safe environment for fellowship and discussion. It’s our goal to offer a place where people can study and learn scripture, support each other’s spiritual needs and growth, find encouragement, and forge friendships.
